This class explores many basic techniques used in flameworking. Students will learn how to safely operate different types of glassworking equipment and use a variety of tools to manipulate molten glass. In this two-day class we will create many solid and blown glass objects such as marbles, paperweights, pendants, jars, and ornaments. We will also experiment with many forms of glass such as dichroic, frit, and striking colors. This workshop concentrates on developing skills in basic flameworking and provides a solid technical groundwork for future development. No experience is required

“I learned so much during this weekend class that I'm still trying to process all the wonderful information. You covered everything you discussed in your class description, and then some, plus answering all my questions. You showed great patience teaching and the entire learning process was very enjoyable."

"I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate you on your skill, talent, and vision. Your glass is unlike any I have seen, and your vision to make it accessible to your community is wonderful. Watching you work, and your artwork has inspired me all over again to work with glass."

"Just a quick note to say thanks for a really fascinating experience. You are a natural teacher and while the class was certainly a challenge, I really appreciated the way you let us make mistakes and push our limits but then stepped in with a helping hand when we got too stuck!"
